Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1)

Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1) - Jamie McGuire I. Am. In. Love. With. This. Perfect. Romance. Craziness. Heart-pounding. Book. It is pure perfection. Hands down the best love story I have ever read. It will frustrate you, make you do happy dances, maybe even cry. Beautiful Disaster is straight up dope in book form. Travis Maddox... 'nuff said. :)Beautiful Disaster starts off with Abby who is a new freshman at Eastern University. She's finally far away from home with her best friend, America, and she's excited to start over fresh from her past life. Then, Abby meets the notorious Travis Maddox... the super sexy, tattooed, fighter that every girl wants to have a fling with. As they become closer, and she resists his charms, Travis (desperate to see Abby more) makes a bet with her on one of his fights. If Abby wins, he will go without sex for a month, but if Travis wins, Abby must live with him for a month. As they two push and pull against each other it could only lead to one thing... a beautiful disaster.I am so completely in love with this book, I just don't even know where to start. There were parts in this story where I literally wanted to rip my hair out, parts where I was laughing, others where my heart was breaking, and parts where I was overjoyed with happiness. I honestly was highlighting a quote on almost every other page... that's how much I loved these words. This book is a love story unlike any you will read, I promise you.Abby and Travis are too well matched, although neither believes the other is good enough for each other. Abby is a beautiful, smart girl who is desperate to start a new life. The last person she wants to get involved with is Travis, who reminds her of her old life. I just adored Abby. She was so strong, so sexy yet natural, with a smart head on her shoulders. Yes, there were times I wanted to slap her for being stupid and others where I wanted to hug her for standing up for herself.Oh Travis... Travis Maddox. It is impossible to not love this kid. Yes he's a fighter, which I don't totally approve of, but it does have that hot factor to it. He has tattoos... which is so sexy on certain guys and let me tell you Travis has got it! I may have been skeptical about Travis in the beginning of the book because I really don't like sleaze-bags shall I say? ...And let me tell you there was a few times I wanted to kick his ass from here to china because of it. But, that being said.. Travis is also incredibly smart, tormented, and caring. He protects and would do anything for the people he loves. And by the end of the book, I was totally head over heels for this kid. I waaaaant a Travis Maddox. There were other characters too of course who made this story for me. One in particular is Abby's best friend, America. I LOVED her. She is so witty and all around fun-loving with a brain. She is the ultimate best friend, and I would adore her as mine. Then, there is Shepley, who is Travis's cousin and America's boyfriend. I thought he played a good role as well and I think Shepley and America are perfect for each other as well! Lets see who else... oh Finch! Finch is a friend, and a comical one at that. Finch is always having you laugh through out the story, plus he's a good friend... what's not to love? And finally, I really enjoyed Travis' family. I thought they were funny as heck!I have to say, I love the age range of this book. It's set in a college setting with 18+ year olds, with drinking, and sex, parties, classes, tests, and fighting. Which is exactly the level I'm at and exactly what I love reading. This story involves so many things, jealously, family issues, love, betrayal, heart-break, torment, having fun, as well as using your brain along with your heart.Beautiful Disaster covers so many topics and Jamie McGuire completely out-did herself with this one. This book is purely stunning. The wording is perfect. The story is perfect. The fighting is perfect. The love is perfect. My feeling after reading it was and is perfect. I still cannot get over how much I am in love with this story. As I said before, best love story I've ever read. A million stars out of five. If you have even considered reading this one, do it. You will not regret it.
