Synopsis: Sometimes you need someone else to help you find your way.
Maria's life was torn apart when she was fifteen, and for seven years she's kept her terrible secret hidden from the world. Across campus, Owen sees his scars in the mirror every morning while he gets ready for class. Now, in his final semester of college, he's scared that he may have to return to the hell he called home after staying away for almost five years.
When Owen becomes a teaching assistant for one of Maria's classes, they find themselves irresistibly drawn to each other. As the two learn each other's secrets and grow closer, they realize that although they may be lost, they're not alone anymore.

Before he can finish his sentence and before my fears can catch up to me, I push myself back across the sofa and interrupt the excuses. Our lips meet, and my body instinctively shows me what to do as my mind falters. I've never kisses anyone - not willing at least - and I have no clue what I'm doing. All I know is that I like it.
I really like it.
The warmth of his lips against mine somehow spreads all throughout my body as he kisses me, and I can barely contain the overwhelming feeling of happiness blossoming inside me. I'm shaking, but for once in my life, it isn't from fear.
Owen caresses my cheek again, his lips still clinging to mine as if he wanted this just as desperately as I did, and then he slowly embraces me and pulls me close to him. I feel his warm arms around me, his strong chest pressing against mine, but just when I feel like I could die and go to Heaven, the gates of Hell open up instead.
....
"Let go of me!" I scream, wriggling out of Owen's arms and pushing him away.
"Maria, what's wrong?" he asks in alarm, raising his hands to try to calm me down.
I'm off the oouch in a flash, but the triggered memory is already fading. Now I just look like a lunatic. Again.
"I hate you Darren. I fucking hate you."
"I'm sorry Owen. I can't do this," I whimper, trying not to burst into tears in front of him. "God, I want to, but I can't!"
"That's okay. I'm sorry," says Owen, his voice calm and reassuring. He's trying so hard to put up with me, but I'm such a horrible wreck. I don't deserve him any more than I deserve Tina.
"I have to go," I blurt out, and I leap up from the couch.
Before he can say another word, I'm out the door and racing through the falling snow toward my apartment.

I live in the Atlanta area and I'm surrounded by awesome dudes: my husband, son and two dogs. I went to law school at American University, Washington College of Law, but only after I fell in love with D.C. I worked in the Senate during the impeachment trial and wanted to stay. After law school I worked for a bit in the area, then moved to Atlanta.

His Risk to Take (Line of Duty, #2)
Tessa Bailey you are two for two. Absolutely loved His Risk To Take. Not sure if it was the super steamy love scenes, the witty banter, the awesome writing or the always on edge story line, but I loved it all!
When Ruby and Tony meet they're just two people in a bar. One having a drink and the other doing what she does best: playing pool. They quickly become tangled up in each others lives... literally.I loved Ruby right from the start, she's basically a bad ass. Plus I also am pretty good a pool so I totally related to her on that level. Ruby has had a rough past and yet she's still on a strong woman. On the other side is Tony Bennett. Strong, sexy, and well you gotta love a man in a uniform. He also hasn't had it easy, especially with the loss of his old partner. Then he find Ruby some one who can match his strength and hardness. I loved watching these two's romance.
Overall fantastic follow up from Tessa Bailey. The romance was steaming off the pages and the action was thrilling. Plus her writing continues to blow me away. Love, love, loved it!
Game. Set. Match. (Outer Banks Tennis Academy)
Absolutely blown away. When I read the synopsis, I was definitely interested right away seeing that I would most likely get a fun romantic story. After reading it though, it was so much more than that. Game. Set. Match. is the perfect mix of tension, romance, and tennis and Jennifer Iacopelli links all three main character's stories effortlessly. Find the full review at Shortie Says
The Iron Locket: 1 (The Risen King)
Let me start off by staying I absolutely love the cover of The Iron Locket. I love the fact that it's green, that Aiofe is there beautiful and strong, and that there's a knight. Overall it's a stunning cover. It definitely drew me in. Also, I absolutely love the concept of anything related to faerie and faerie worlds, so that sucked me in as well. I have to admit it took me some time to get into the story but when it started to pick up, for me it was one exciting adventure. Find the full review at Shortie Says- 3.5 out of 5 -
